TOPIC DETAILS, TIMELINE:
5:30pm - 5:40pm: guest arrival / check in.
5:40 - 5:55pm: Manresa rep speaks about the project / history, etc.
5:55 - 6:25pm: Tour through the building, up to the roof.
6:25 - 6:45pm: Landscape portion of the tour on off roaders throughout the forest and along the coasts.
6:45 - 7pm: Q&A

Location + Parking:
The address is 1 Manresa Island Road, Norwalk, CT 06854. Upon arrival, check in with the security guards at the gate; they will be expecting your group! There is ample parking at the main building—please fill in spots as needed.
Tour Details
Tours are approximately 90 minutes and include an extensive walk through the office wing, turbine hall, and boiler building—totaling approximately 500 stairs (including up and down to the roof). Please note that some of the stairs are open-style metal grates, and there are no elevators at this time. We will also explore the water’s edge for a view of the Norwalk Islands and Long Island Sound.

What to Wear:
Closed-toed, laced, flat shoes are required. It is breezy on the water, so please dress appropriately for the weather. As with much of New England, ticks may be present on-site, so we recommend wearing pants and socks.
Please remember:
Dogs are not permitted for this visit. Visitors must be 18 years or older. Tours are weather dependent, meaning we will need to cancel should it be raining out the day of.
ABOUT
Manresa Wilds is a visionary waterfront redevelopment project led by the nonprofit Manresa Island Corporation, transforming a long-inaccessible former power plant site in Norwalk, Connecticut into a vibrant, publicly accessible park. Designed as a first-of-its-kind destination, the 125-acre site will feature 1.75 miles of shoreline access, year-round programming, educational and research initiatives, and restored natural ecosystems—reconnecting the community to Long Island Sound for the first time in nearly 75 years while serving as a model for sustainable, community-driven reuse of post-industrial land.
