How can connecting to nature and experiencing ourselves as part of nature help us bring more peace, presence and belonging into our daily lives?In this retreat we will rest into the natural beauty of the Dart Valley and reconnect to the Earth by being in and working on the land and learning about the teachings of Buddhism. One translation of the word Dharma (often translated as “teachings of the Buddha”) is “nature”. To be connected to nature and to recognise ourselves as part of nature supports us to relax and deepen our meditation practice in everyday life.
The Barn retreat has been running accessible Buddhist and mindfulness meditation retreats open to people of all faiths and none for the last 40 years. It is tucked away in a secluded rural location on the stunning 550-acre estate of Sharpham, with homely and comfortable accommodation including single rooms for a maximum of 11 participants.
