Touch Grass Weekend Wanderer: Lee Valley (September 27-29)

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a weekend away in nature. Share stories around the campfire, engage in deep conversations under the starlit sky, and form bonds with fellow adventurers that will last a lifetime.

September's weekend wander will be to Lee Valley. We will be pitching up on a goregous field surrounded by woodland. River Lea is located just a short walk from the field, perfect for a stroll.

Location: Lee Valley Campsite, Sewardstone(nearest station is Chingford, bus 215 stops outside)

Date: Friday 27th - 29th September 2024

Arrival time: from 3pm

Touch Grass is an outdoor community for queer women and non-binary people of colour.

We are committed to fostering community growth through outdoor gatherings and wellness-focused trips that encourage us to rekindle our relationship with nature. Our immersive experiences go beyond relaxation—it's about empowerment, wellness, and forging meaningful connections.

Our vision is for queer people of colour to see the outdoors as a space where we belong. A Natural England study found that White people are 70% more likely than Black and Asian people to spend time in the countryside. We want to change this. We deserve to reap the benefits of improved emotional well-being and physical health too.
