Expect a joyous mix of classical violin and cello music, fused with folk music from Scotland and Ireland. Jess and Niamh bring a programme of rustic Hungarian folk, elegant Beethoven, beautiful traditional songs and some jazz from Porgy and Bess to Torphichen this summer.As a performer Jessica Hall has worked with many of the top UK orchestras. Most recently she has enjoyed guesting as Co-principal with the orchestra of Scottish Ballet and is thrilled to be currently trialling with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and for principal second with Scottish Opera. She has recently enjoyed several international tours across Europe and, by the time of this concert, will be fresh off a tour to China in May. On the pop scene she has enjoyed collaborating with some big artists including Robbie Williams, Peter Andre, The Eagles, Richard Hawley,
Basement Jaxx, Jimmy Somerville and Paul Heaton from The Beautiful South.
An established chamber musician, Niamh Molloy has performed in many concert venues throughout the U.K. and Ireland, including Wigmore Hall and the National Concert Hall, Dublin.
She also spent an unusual two weeks with her piano trio on a cruise ship in the Indian Ocean, being chased by Somali pirates.
Niamh was a member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from 2011-2015 and has performed world-wide with many eminent musicians from Pinchas Zukerman and Placido Domingo to Shirley Bassey, Radiohead and Pete Townsend. Now based in Scotland, she enjoys a busy freelance life, performing regularly with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
