Library website link: https://events.tscpl.org/event/15557350Come see me at the TSCPL's author fair from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 30!
Along with other local authors, I'll be in the Marvin Auditorium to interact with folks who want to talk about "Goodbye, Butterfly: Murder, faith and forgiveness in a small Kansas town."
The book began as a capstone assignment when I was a graduate student at Washburn University. Released in September 2024, the book was a hot new release on Amazon, including a stint as the top-ranked Midwest history book. "GB" is on its third print.
On Oct. 19, 1991, the small town of Dover, Kansas, and the Keller family were forever changed. Brenda Keller, the 12-year-old daughter of the town's pastor, was abducted, raped and murdered by a man who should have been behind bars. Through unimaginable sadness the Keller family pushed forward relying heavily on their faith to live full lives dedicated to honoring their daughter.
I will have books available for purchase. If you already have a book and would like it signed, bring it!
Webb will discuss the process of bringing Brenda Keller's case to light. He will touch on why he wanted to write about it, how to find and engage with resources, how the library helped him in the writing process, and the dedication it takes to make a debut book a success.
Books will be available after the event, and Webb will sign books either purchased that night or previously purchased.
