Hannah Lowe is a poet, memoirist and academic. Her latest book, , a won the Costa Poetry Award and the Costa Book of the Year, 2021. Her first poetry collection (Bloodaxe, 2013) won the Michael Murphy Memorial Award for Best First Collection. She is a Professor of Creative Writing at Brunel University
Ardahisr Vakil was born in Bombay. His novel Beach Boy won a Betty Trask Award, was shortlisted for the Whitbread first novel Award and was translated into nine languages. His second novel, One Day was shortlisted for the Encore Award. From 2006 - 2024 Ardu taught Creative Writing at Goldsmiths. His students include Claire Adam, Raymond Antrobus, Alan Davies and Elaine Castillo.
The Writing Shed is a creative project in which open mic nights, workshops and in depth conversations with established writers intersect at the centre of a creative space in North London.
