Every year on his birthday, Sun Radio celebrates Tom Petty with a full 24 hours of uninterrupted Tom Petty music, making us the only station in the world with that honor. But we don’t stop there—each year, we also host a live tribute concert, bringing together fans, local musicians, and legendary covers to celebrate the life and legacy of Tom Petty.
This year, we’re bringing the music to the ballroom at Hotel Ella. Join us for an event filled with Tom Petty’s greatest hits, performed by The Damn Torpedoes, and some of our favorite local artists.

Sun Radio supports the Sun Radio Foundation, a 501C3 not-for-profit whose mission is to preserve the heritage of Texas music with a minimal impact on the environment. Since 2020, the Sun Radio Recharge Program has served over 1,000 Central Texans and donated roughly over $300,000 towards these initiatives and plans to continue to provide immediate support.
