Sangamon Songs: A Musical Play comes to St. LouisSangSongs Productions in conjunction with CRSTL.FM presents
Sangamon Songs: A Musical Play at the Lindenwood Park Place
(3460 Jamieson Avenue St. Louis, MO 63139)
on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at
SangSongs Productions Events Home ($25) or at the door ($30).
The two-act “musical play” combines narration, live music
performance and a slide show based on an 1893 diary of a teenage
Illinois farm boy. The songs, written by Tom Irwin and originally
released on a 2012 recording, follow the life of young Harry Glen
Ludlam through six months as documented daily in his diary. Adapted
by playwright John W. Arden for the stage in 2018, the show runs
about 2 hours with an intermission and was described by Illinois
Times as "pure magic." Irwin’s sons John who portrays Harry and
sings, and Owen, who plays acoustic guitar are joined by guest
musicians in song performances. Portions of the proceeds from this
performance will be donated to CRSTL.FM, community radio in St.
