Tom Hingley is best known for being one of the two lead singers with Oldham band The Inspiral Carpets and was with the band between February 1989 and February 2011. He sang on ten Top Forty hits including 'This is How It Feels’, ‘Saturn Five’, 'Dragging Me Down' amongst others. Tom parted company with Inspirals in 2011 , but has since performed and recorded as both a solo artist and as part of the bands Tom Hingley & The Lovers and The Tom Hingley Band since 1999. Tom's solo material reflects an eclectic mix of the acoustic , 'Keep Britain Untidy' (2000), 'Thames Valley Delta Blues ‘(2010) ‘Sand’ (2015) and his latest release ‘Hymns for the Hungry’ (2020) and the electric guitar sounds of ‘Soulfire’ (2001) ‘Abba Are The Enemy’, with the Lovers (2001), ‘Paper’ (2015 ) and 'I Love My Job' with the Tom Hingley Band (2018).
