He has been compared to Ed Sheeran, Mat Kearney, David Gray, and Wye Oak—but with a distinct perspective shaped by the plot twists of his life: a troubled teen in Wisconsin turned college wrestler in Missouri who studied to be a Catholic priest in DC before falling in love and becoming a touring gay musician based in LA.
