A Tipu Sultan Masjid at the crossing of a busy road, a residential complex named Fort Mysore or a road named Anjuman Ara Begum Row. In this walk which explores the Prince Anwar Shah Road and its adjoining region, we explore various strands of history that have together contributed to the diversity of architecture and ethnicity. Be it the construction of the Tolly Canal or a Dhaka Kalibari coming up post-Partition, we shall look at how a marshy, forested tract of land became the abode of migrants throughout the last 200 years of Indian history. Come, let us walk this part of South Kolkata through a different lens than ever before.
