Together We Resist: From Individual to Collective Action

We are a new collective called Wahda (meaning ‘unity’ in Arabic - وحدة) inviting you to our first event titled Together We Resist: From Individual to Collective Action at the Feminist Library on Friday the 29th of November from 18:30-22:00.

As Zionist aggression continues across Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, we call for the liberation of all people from imperialist and Zionist oppression. The event aims to highlight the importance of community and serve as a space to unite, educate, and inspire collective action toward global justice and liberation. There will be a series of talks led by activists, creatives, and academics as well as several stalls selling Levantine products, prints and food.

Who are we fundraising for:

All of the proceeds from the ticket sales and stalls will go directly to Gaza Sunbirds and Haven for Artists. We chose to support mutual aid initiatives as they are community-driven and operate directly on the ground, ensuring that every contribution goes directly to those in need without the delays and overhead often associated with larger NGOs.

Gaza Sunbirds is a para-cycling team that is providing community-led aid to Gaza. They source food from local farms, warehouses and supermarkets, distributing them in areas where traditional aid cannot reach, with their smaller size allowing them to respond quickly to individual community needs.

Haven for Artists is a cultural feminist organisation based in Beirut, delivering essential aid such as clothes, personal hygiene products and blankets to the displaced on the street.
