Join two of Australia’s most respected roots artists for a special double launch show celebrating Dana Gehrman’s new EP Ocean Blue and Danny Widdicombe’s album One Note at a Time.
Brisbane guitarist and powerhouse vocalist Dana Gehrman brings her signature blend of 70s West Coast warmth, roots-rock, blues and soul to the stage. Known for her vintage swagger, sharp songwriting and commanding, soul-drenched voice, Gehrman has earned widespread acclaim for her debut album Find A Way and 2023’s Down In Hollywood (★★★★ Rhythms Magazine). A seasoned performer, she has toured alongside Tim Rogers (You Am I), Mick Thomas, Phil Jamieson and shared stages with artists including Charlie Musselwhite, Mike Stern, Walter Trout, The Teskey Brothers, Russell Morris, Eric Gales and many more.
Born from the creative momentum of winning the 2025 Carol Lloyd Award, Ocean Blue captures the warm, feel-good energy of 70s L.A. — breezy, vibrant, and irresistibly groove-laden. Expect shimmering guitars, infectious hooks, and Dana’s signature blend of soulful swagger and rock-and-roll charm.
Danny Widdicombe & The Wand’rin’ Stars see the multiple award-winning songwriter return to his folk and country roots following the release of his critically acclaimed sophomore album with Trichotomy (★★★★ The Australian). His new album, One Note at a Time features an all-star lineup of Australian country royalty: Michel Rose (pedal steel), Luke “Fiddleboy” Moller (fiddle), Brendan St Ledger (piano), Gus Fenwick (bass) and Doug Gallacher (drums).
Recorded live in the studio at Alchemix in South Brisbane, the music captures a rare sense of spontaneity and musical connection — band members in a circle, responding in real time. That same energy comes alive on stage, offering audiences a chance to experience this exciting new band as they share their songs and stories.
