To Reach the Light

Co-presented by IlluminArts and in collaboration with two Miami-based Dimensions Dance Theater, “To Reach the Light” will feature six newly commissioned pieces by composers from across the United States and Europe. This performance will feature original choreography by Dimensions Dance Theater, continuing Variant 6’s interest in multimedia collaboration.

In the summer of 2020, we asked each composer to write a piece based on ideas of transformation, adaptation, growth, and change. The result is six wildly different compositions, each reflecting in some way the composer’s thoughts and feelings from that time. Subject matter ranged from the deeply personal (including words from the members of Variant 6) to more general examinations of grieving and loss.

COVID-19 POLICY

All audience members must show proof of vaccination at the door. Audience will also be required to wear masks for the entirety of the performance.
