"To be a Muse in L.A." is a professional reclamation of the traditional muse, shifting the focus from celebrity icons to the everyday Black women who define the Los Angeles landscape. Following a rigorous 100-day painting performance, this exhibition will feature over 100 original works—ranging from high-velocity daily studies to deeply detailed, large-scale portraits of the matriarchs and mentors who have built my artistry. By pricing the performance pieces with radical accessibility, the show ensures that the community can own the stories they inspired. This isn’t just art on a wall; it’s a living record of our community. It’s about giving Black women their flowers in real-time and ensuring that the women who actually build and define this city are finally seen, valued, and shown in the light.
