Tonight’s Concert: About The Manhattan String Quartet

Hailed by the Boston Globe as “a national treasure,” the Manhattan String Quartet is celebrating its 47th season. The ensemble is composed of Curtis Macomber (violin), Sunghae Anna Lim (violin), Marka Gustavsson (viola), and Chris Finckel (cello), each of whom has enjoyed a distinguished musical career.

Each member of this ensemble has had a distinguished musical career in their own right.

Program Information

"NEWER VOICES"

This program, titled “Newer Voices,” offers a thoughtful contrast to the earlier works presented throughout this season’s concerts. While not entirely “new,” these selections highlight composers drawing on shared cultural identity and collective expression.

A unifying thread throughout the evening is the sense of national voice and commonality. Together, these works explore how music can express the spirit and emotional landscape of a people.

Parking Information

Parking is available in our Van Vleck Street Parking Lot. Please do not use our North Mountain Avenue lot.

The Van Vleck lot is one-way only: follow signage for the entrance and exit.

The entrance gate is located on Van Vleck Street, closer to North Mountain Avenue than the main entrance to the house.

Slowly approach the gate to activate the sensor—no pass is required.

Additional parking is permitted along North Mountain Avenue.

Please note: Parking is not allowed on Van Vleck Street at any time.
