Join in a day of camaraderie, fun, and food with your fellow Trailkeepers kindly hosted by Ingrid and her family.
About this Event

Please come celebrate at our summer potluck with your trail-keeping friends! Eat, visit, relax with trail keepers on Saturday, June 14th from 11am to 4pm.

We are looking forward to a relaxing afternoon with good food and good company. The picnic will be at Ingrid Henrickson’s home in the coast range. Bring lawn chairs or blankets if you can. We will have a large tent in case of rain.

We will make sure there is plenty of food of all kinds. Please feel free to supplement with any favorite entrees, salads, chips, beverages. Mark Wattier will assist in organizing this.

All trail keepers and family members are welcome.

Directions:
The address is 51588 NW Hayward Road, which is a gravel road that runs over the hills between Highway 26 (Sunset Highway) and Highway 6 (the Wilson River Highway). The best access to our house is from the Sunset Highway. There is a left turn lane for Hayward Road. We are about 2.5 miles off the Sunset Highway. Look for a cedar-shingled house with blue trim and a gambrel roof.

We are about 6 miles from Highway 6, so access is also possible from the south, but requires a longer drive on gravel. From that direction, take Cedar Canyon Road at the far west end of the Killin Westlands and head NW up the hill.

Ingrid’s phone number is 541-399-0963. Another contact number here is David Burton (Ingrid’s dad) at 503-816-6850.

Parking:
Parking will be available just off the road at the lower end of our field. This area will be marked by a Green TKO hat and a sign. Walk through the wooden gate, and up the path through the orchard. There is also limited parking (and/or drop-off) in our driveway; this area will be available for any trail keepers or guests who have mobility issues.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: TKO recognizes that the trails we work on travel through the traditional lands of many Indigenous tribes and communities. We are the most recent in a long line of stewards to this land, and it is our responsibility to do so with humility and respect. We are grateful to these tribes and their descendants for being the original and continuing stewards of these spaces, and encourage everyone to go beyond a land acknowledgment by supporting Indigenous communities and organizations in your area.

ACCOMMODATION REQUESTS: TKO seeks to make our events inclusive of people of all backgrounds and abilities. If you would like to discuss potential accommodations to allow for your participation in this event, please click here to complete a short Google survey. TKO staff will then contact you to discuss options. Please note: available accommodations will vary by event and typically need to be requested a minimum of two weeks in advance. If you have any questions, please contact TKO Stewardship Manager Lindsay McIntosh-Tolle at [email protected].

EQUITY & INCLUSION: TKO seeks to make Oregon’s trails a place where people can go to connect with nature & one another. Not everyone feels safe or welcome in the outdoors due to issues like racism, bias, and hate. We commit to being part of the solution to this problem and to enact change. Conduct, speech, or expressions that target any individual or group will not be tolerated by TKO.

PERSONAL SAFETY: Your physical and emotional safety is our number one priority. If a person’s actions or comments make you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, you may: interrupt directly, tell a crew leader, and/or inform TKO staff via the post-event survey.

While TKO no longer requires masking/vaccination for our events, we do support those who choose to mask for their own safety. We ask participants to respect the health of folks who wear masks by distancing or wearing a mask while in close proximity.
