Tkaronto Open II - Women's Fancy Shawl
Tkaronto Open II is a celebration of Indigenous culture and beauty, presenting the highest level of showmanship among Indigenous dancers from across Turtle Island. This powwow style competition will feature: Women’s Jingle Dress and Men’s Fancy War vs. Women’s Fancy Shawl (*new this year!*). Come celebrate with us in the outdoor plaza at Toronto’s Union Station, in the heart of the city. Indigenous music and dance have the power to heal you in ways you didn’t know you needed.
Registration is $25 + fees. (Fees are nonrefundable and all proceeds will be donated to the Dokis First Nations School)
*Please note: each category has a capacity of 20 participants. Once the capacity is reached, participants will be added to a waitlist and contacted in case of cancellations*
Contestants must be 18+ to register
Online and In-person registrations will be accepted if capacity is not reached prior to the event.
Doors will open at 10:00 AM and the competition will start at 12:00 PM (exact order of events will be communicated closer to the date)
