T.K. BLUE- BIO
Saxophonist, Flautist, Composer, Arranger, and Educator, T.K. Blue appears on over 85 recordings and performed with such artists as Don Cherry; Abdullah Ibrahim; Miriam Makeba; Randy Weston—T.K. was also his musical director and arranger; Sam Rivers; Archie Shepp; Xalam (from Senegal); Charli Persip; Dizzy Gillespie; Pharoah Sanders; Melba Liston; Chico Hamilton; Stefon Harris; Regina Carter; Bobby McFerrin; Dee Dee Bridgewater; Jimmy Scott; Winard Harper; Russell Malone; Etienne Charles; Candido Camera; Bobby Sanabria; Steve Turre; Monty Alexander; and Arturo O’Farrill, just to name a few.
So far 2024 has had a multitude of performances including the Kennedy Center For The Performing Arts 2024 NEA Jazz Masters Ceremony for Dr. Willard Jenkins induction; The International Jazz Day Concert with the Herbie Hancock Institute in Tangiers, Morocco. T.K.Blue will also join piano legend and master musician Monty Alexander for a retrospective concert of his career at the Rose Hall JALC January 24 and 25!
In August Blue opened the annual Charlie Parker Jazz Festival in NYC with his band "Latin Bird". In September T.K.Blue paid tribute to his mentor NEA Jazz Master Dr Randy Westonfor three nights at Dizzy's Club JALC.
