As the Wilmington Symphonic Winds closes our 11th season, we invite you to experience a program centered on change, resilience, and renewal through music. We open with Julie Giroux’s Titan (Symphony No. 7), a large-scale and cinematic work that explores both strength and vulnerability. Expansive in scope and emotional range, the symphony sets the tone for a program focused on transformation and perseverance.
Jonathan Newman’s Blow It Up, Start Again follows with driving energy and a spirit of reinvention, embracing the idea that growth often begins with disruption. Michael Markowski’s As Midnight on a Moonless Night then turns inward, reflecting on uncertainty, isolation, and the search for direction in difficult moments.
After intermission, Aaron Perrine’s Only Light offers a sense of comfort and hope, reminding us that even in dark moments, light remains. We close with Katahj Copley’s DOPE, a bold and energetic celebration of confidence, individuality, and joy, bringing our season to an exciting close.
