Hi to all friends of Mel!Melanie and I go WAAAY back. We went to high school together in Campbellford if you can believe it, somehow we both ended up 20 minutes down the road from each other in New Brunswick of all places.
There was a bit of a shadow cast on Mel's arrival in Chipman, as the day the key turned on their new home, she got a call about an inoperable brain tumor that was nesting in her brain stem. Since then, Mel has been tossed around the medical system, without a Dr and just now is finally finishing up 30 rounds of Radiation to try to K*ll the tumor where it sits.
The tumor is not cancer, but benign is NOT fine in this case. Letting this tumor grow is a death sentence. The implications have already been great. Mel has lost 80% of her hearing on the right side. Half of her face is numb and her body is afflicted with various levels of nerve pain. She has problems regulating her body heat, and because the tumor will not be removed, these symptoms will be with her forever.
Unfortunately, the previous owners of the house had removed the bathtub. Mel didn't know at the time how big of a sacrifice this would be.
Mel NEEDS a bathtub. It is how she helps find sleep on sleepless nights, it's how she eases away the toughest edges of the pain, it's how she gets her temperature to level out when she wakes up in near convulsions with temperature imbalance.
Mel's husband Scott is an amazing live musician and he and an amazing group of friends will be putting together a fantastic night of music at Queens County Inn. Let's kick off the Easter weekend together (What a treat to have something great to do that actually feels good).
Let's "Tip for a Tub" and get this bathroom reno done for someone who arrived and jumped right into this community with two feet!
Mel is Vice Chair of Chipman Outreach, she is a board member and league bowler at Chipman Bowlarama, she is on the organizing committee for the Trail Folk Music Festival, Chipman Legion member and Social Media volunteer, and involved with Chipman communities in bloom... And all inside of a year and a half!
