Saturday, May 23rd @ 1:00pmTiny Tomes: A Clay Artist Book Adventure
Step into a hands-on, two-hour art adventure where polymer clay and paper come together to tell a story.
In this workshop, you’ll explore simple techniques for creating richly textured polymer clay book covers, learning how to press and shape a surface that feels meaningful to your story. Basic polymer clay experience is helpful, but not required; curiosity is enough.
While your covers bake, we’ll shift our focus to the heart of the book—its pages. You’ll assemble your own paper signatures using a selection of materials such as watercolor paper, writing paper, and an assortment of evocative ephemera including sheet music, vintage maps, cyanotype prints, and rust-dyed papers. You’re invited to bring your own special papers (printed, painted, stamped, etc.) to personalize your book or use those provided.
We’ll then bring everything together using a simple Coptic stitch binding, transforming your materials into a beautifully handcrafted miniature book.
You’ll leave with a tiny tome—perfect as a special gift, an art object, or a place to gather your own words, sketches, and quiet ideas.
