WARMTH AND CONNECTION FOR YOUR WINTEREscape those chilly Sunday evenings and step into the cozy embrace of Tiny Fusion to dance, connect, and recharge. We’re here to blend movement and community, in an atmosphere that’s low-pressure and welcoming.
Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just looking to shake off the week’s stress, these evenings are about embracing joy and creativity. Come as you are, let the music inspire you, and find your rhythm in a supportive environment. We hope you’ll leave feeling warmed and ready for the week ahead, with plenty of time to snuggle up early at home.
Let’s make this winter a little brighter together.
BETWEEN THE BOOKSHELVES
Our first instalment of Tiny Fusion is very tiny, between the stacks of the dreamy Clifton Community Bookshop. We suggest booking your ticket well in advance so you don’t miss out.
ACCESS
The venue has level access from the entrance to the dancefloor. The bathroom and the drinking tap are accessed via a small set of stairs.
BROKE?
We offer sliding scale tickets wherever possible. With such a tiny event, our capacity to offer subsidies is limited but if you can’t afford a ticket and want to come dancing email [email protected] with “Tiny Fusion” in the subject line and we’ll try to help.
WTF IS FUSION?
Fusion is partner dancing, without the baggage. We're not here to stick to a rigid set of steps, but to actually dance with another person to good music on a night out. Fusion is all about improvisation, connecting with your partner and seeing what happens. We don't care if you've never danced before, as long as you're having a good time.
Fusion gets its name from fusing different styles of dance - maybe you've danced blues, tango, lindy, west coast swing or hip hop or maybe you just like to get on the dance floor and shake it, you have something to bring!
For us, fusion is more than a dance, it's also a way of living the future we want to build. That means it is queer, it is feminist, and we don't want anyone left behind.
DANCE HAS NO GENDER
In fusion we...
...don't assume what role you take in the dance; whether you lead, follow or switch is up to you and your partner
...welcome everyone, embracing queerness and all types of bodies
...feel free to ask anyone to dance, and are okay hearing and saying no sometimes
...check-in with our partner about what kind of dance they would like, including whether they feel happy with close embrace or being dipped
