About this Event
Come and plant a new Tiny Forest at St Marks Park, Swindon!
This is free to attend and open to all ages
Central Swindon North Parish Council and are working with Earthwatch Europe to establish a new Tiny Forest in St Marks Park, Swindon (see below for exact location). A Tiny Forest is a dense, fast-growing, native woodland made up of 600 trees planted in a tennis court-sized plot. They are not only an attractive location for wildlife but are great for people to enjoy as well, and can provide a range of benefits in the fight against climate change. This Tiny Forest is funded by Admiral.
Join us on Thursday 29th January where we will be planting 600 trees that will make up the Tiny Forest.
Location: St Marks Park, behind Swindon North End Bowls Club, Ipswich St, SN2 1DB
Coordinates: 51°34'15.3"N 1°46'55.0"W | what3words: ///tasty.assume.blaze
How long to spend with us:
1:00pm onwards (until all the trees are planted!)
Please arrive towards the start so that everyone who would like to join in has a tree to plant. You are welcome to stay for as little or as long as you like.
What to wear: We strongly recommend wearing long sleeves and long trousers, plus footwear for a day in the outdoors, such as wellies/walking boots. Equipment will be provided on the day but feel free to bring along your own gardening gloves and a spade if you have these.
Getting there: We encourage using public transport, walking or car sharing wherever possible.
Keeping you safe: It’s our priority to keep everyone safe, and there will be a site safety briefing for everyone who attends.🌳🌳
At Earthwatch Europe, we are committed to making all our events inclusive, respectful, and safe for everyone. Hate of any kind will not be tolerated, and we actively promote a space where individuality is respected and welcomed.
