TINTERN TALKS presents Prof Ronald Hutton - ‘The Ancient Pagan Religions Of Monmouthshire’Our pagan past, with its mysterious monuments, atmospheric sites, enigmatic artifacts, bloodthirsty legends, and cryptic inscriptions, is both enthralling and perplexing. Who were these ancient pagans and what were they practising in Monmouthshire?
Ronald Hutton is an engaging and acclaimed broadcaster, author and academic. He has written twenty books, ninety-six essays and sits on the editorial boards of six journals concerned with the history of religion and magic. As Professor of History at Bristol University he has won several awards for teaching and research.
Ronald is currently working on the third volume of his biography of Oliver Cromwell. The first title Oliver Cromwell: The Making of was a Sunday Times Book of The Year. The second volume Commander in Chief is now available.
This is an in-person event at Tintern Village Hall NP16 6SZ. The doors and the bar open at 7pm. There is disabled access, loos and limited free parking outside the hall. Parking is permitted along the main road (A466) after 6pm or there is parking by The Anchor/Tintern Abbey.
