Having been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people, the world-famous Luxmuralis arrives in Lancashire for the first time ever!
TIME, a spectacular light and sound show will be at Blackburn Cathedral from Tuesday 24th - Saturday 28th February 2026.
Internationally acclaimed artists Luxmuralis bring their stunning light and sound installation ‘TIME’ to Blackburn.
This astounding projected light and sound show is perfect for guests of all ages and is an unforgettable journey through history, science and imagination.
An evocative and thought-provoking journey invites visitor of all ages to explore our collective relationship with time through breathtaking visual projections and a powerful original score. Within this unique setting, art and science come together in a truly immersive environment that reimagines space and narrative.
Guests will step through glowing corridors of light, venture into the inner mechanisms of time itself, and follow a dramatic story that spans from the origins of the universe to the present day.
The first of many major events planned for 2026 as part of the Cathedral’s Centenary celebrations, this installation will allow guests to witness time unfold as a living artwork and is perfect for families, art-lovers and curious minds alike.
This spectacular experience is guaranteed to captivate and enthral and takes around 45 minutes from start to finish and once admitted, there is no limit to the amount of time you can spend in the Cathedral.
The mesmerising voyage through time, experiencing a dramatic narrative that spans from the very beginning of everything to the present day, ultimately reaches the formation of our planet, creating a profound and awe-inspiring conclusion to this unique event.

Important Information
The experience begins in the Crypt at Blackburn Cathedral and entry will be directly via Cathedral Square, BB1 1FB, next to Checks & Greys café.
At the end of your time at the Cathedral, you will exit through the Main West Doors at the front of the Cathedral, opposite BBC Radio Lancashire on Darwen Street, BB1 5AA.
⚠️ Please note that guests will not be able to enter the experience via the Main West Doors at the front of the Cathedral. ⚠️
