About this Event
Sleeping Weazel presents an artistic collaboration with Public Displays of Motion
Time & Times Again
Co-Created by Charlotte Meehan and Peter DiMuro
Co-Directed by Jessica Ernst and Peter DiMuro
Choreographed by Peter DiMuro in collaboration with the ensemble
Time & Times Again explores our media-saturated lives: the ways people try to connect, dart in and out of connection, miss connections, and sometimes succeed in coming together. Meehan's text offers funny, reflective scenes of everyday people and DiMuro choreographs with his PDM ensemble for an in-process work that takes a deep look at who we are now. Audience views the work from four sides of a square, engaging both the stage experience and those viewing around the playing space.
About the artists:
Sleeping Weazel produces bold, multimedia theatre and hybrid performance with social justice ideals. Now in its fourteenth year in Boston, the company has premiered 20 productions of original works — at ArtsEmerson, Boston Center for the Arts, Boston Playwrights' Theatre, Outside the Box Boston, and the former Factory Theatre. A two-time recipient of the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Production/Small Theatre (The Audacity: Women Speak and 3/Fifths' Trapped in a Traveling Minstrel Show), Sleeping Weazel continues to expand the scope of art forms and collaborators we engage.
Peter DiMuro/Public Displays of Motion is an intergenerational, interabled performance company, creating works for stage, screen and on-site. Peter, along with a cohort of collaborating artists, has been commissioned to make work for the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Rose Kennedy Greenway and several conventional theater spaces. Peter DiMuro has created numerous original works for concert, theatre stages, presented internationally, often working with non-arts identified communities, facilitating creativity through the intersection of human experiences and physical expression.
About the performance space:
The Julie Ince Thompson Theatre (Studio 1) and pre/post-show reception space (Studio 7) are ADA compliant. There is a motorized lift that can bring one person at a time from the ground floor to the theater. There is no elevator. There are handicap accessible restrooms on both floors.
