Join us on Thursday, May 14th for another Sweet Thursday feature with Tim Nave, aka (The Artist Known As Tim).Tim Nave is an experimental folk artist from Carter County, Tennessee whose songs draw from personal experience and the culture of Appalachian life. Through projects like Bitter As Hell, Tim has built a body of work shaped by acoustic instruments, folk traditions, and an unflinching look at memory, hardship, healing, and the emotional weight people carry.
His writing comes from a deeply personal place, but also tied to the land and culture that shaped him. There is a lot of East Tennessee in these songs, not just in sound, but in subject matter, atmosphere, and point of view where metaphor, reflection, and lived experience all play a strong role in what he creates.
His songs deal with difficult things without losing their sense of purpose. There is pain in the material, but there is also thought, honesty, and the sense that something worth holding onto can still be found on the other side of it.
