SECRET MOVIE CLUB presents
Part of our TIM BURTON SPOOKY SPECTACULAR 35mm, Sunday, October 19, 2025
630p Ed Wood (1994, dir by Tim Burton, written by Scott Alexander & Larry Karasewski, Disney/Touchstone, 127mns, USA, 35mm)
Be prepared that we always have a DCP.digital backup just in case. But when we say 35mm that means we have secured a 35mm print for this event!
LOCATION: The Million Dollar Theater, 307 S Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90013
Considered by many to be Burton's best, most personal movie, Ed Wood tells the real life story of 1950's schlockmaster director Ed Wood (an impossibly chipper Johnny Depp) who overcame all obstacles to make what many people consider the worst movie ever made: Plan 9 From Outer Space. Backed by a great script by Scott Alexander and Larry Karasewski and an ensemble cast that includes Martin Landau as aging Bela Lugosi (the role for which he won the Academy Award) and a hilariously game Bill Murray, Ed Wood is Burton's valentine to how weirdos and outcasts can find their own family and make their own art. One of the great 1990's movies.
We continue our Tim Burton Spooky Spectacular marathon all day with three more Burton masterpieces on 35mm. (If you'd like to attend part or all of the day, make sure you get an all-day pass and save money).
