About this Event
This hands-on workshop walks you through the full tiling process from start to finish — how to pick the right tile, prep your surface, cut cleanly, set evenly, and grout like a pro. You'll work with real tools and real tile at shared practice stations, building the skills to take on a backsplash, bathroom floor, or shower surround with confidence.
No experience needed. All tools and materials are provided. Space is limited.
What You'll Learn:

📐 How to measure, mark, and dry-lay a layout before any adhesive goes down
✂️ How to cut tile cleanly using a manual snap cutter, nippers, and a wet saw
🪣 How to apply mortar or mastic and set tile evenly with proper spacing
🧽 How to grout, clean, and seal a tiled surface for a finish that lasts
Come Prepared:
No pre-requisites needed, come excited to learn and get dirty. Please wear closed toed shoes and appropriate clothing.
About the Instructor:
Theodore Graham has been tiling since ‘87 and owns and operates Right choice tile since '91. He has extensive experience tiling shopping malls, hotels, casinos and more. Theo know all the tricks to tile – and leaves you with this advice “You can't be scared doing tile, you just got to relax”
Workshop Policies
Payment must be made at the time of registration through Eventbrite. If you are unable to attend and wish to cancel your registration, you may do so through Eventbrite, under the following conditions:
- If at least one week (seven days) or more before the class, we will refund half the cost of the class.
- All other cancellations are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
Only those who are registered will be able to attend the workshop (no unregistered companions). Contact us if you need reasonable accommodations.
Audio or video recording of workshops is not allowed. Please refrain from cell phone use during workshops.

Transportation and parking
Boston Building Resources is located a short walk away from the Roxbury Crossing station on the MBTA Orange Line.
We are close to the Southwest Corridor bicycle path.
If you are driving, there is free on-street parking on Terrace Street which has no time limit weekends and after 6:00 p.m.

FAQs
What should I wear?
This is a hands-on class that uses tools. Please, no loose clothing. Wear work clothes that are easy to move around in and you don't mind getting dirty. Shoes should be comfortable for working and standing.
Will there be a break?
Yes. There will be a brief break half way through. You are welcome to bring something to eat during the break. Light snacks will be provided.
Can I bring a companion?
Only registered students may attend the class. If a companion would like to attend, they must also register for the class. Anyone needing special accommodations should email [email protected].
