Light in Glass: Tiffany-Style Stained Glass Sun Catcher
There is something timeless about stained glass — the way color catches sunlight and transforms it into something magical. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the traditional Tiffany copper foil technique while creating your own handcrafted stained glass sun catcher designed to glow when light shines through it.
At the start of class, you’ll choose from four thoughtfully designed patterns, each created to highlight the beauty of glass and light. From there, you’ll grind, foil, and solder your piece as it comes together into a finished work of art.
No experience is necessary — we’ll guide you through every step.
What You’ll Make
• One completed Tiffany-style stained glass sun catcher
What To Expect
• Guided instruction in the Tiffany copper foil stained glass technique
• Grinding and fitting glass pieces for precise assembly
• Foil work to prepare the glass for soldering
• Hands-on soldering instruction
• Support throughout the entire process from raw glass to finished piece
Over the course of approximately three hours, you’ll move through the entire stained glass process and leave with a finished sun catcher ready to hang.
Due to the detailed nature of stained glass work, some students may require additional time beyond the scheduled class hours to finish their piece. If needed, additional time may be discussed during class.
Students may also return during studio hours on Wednesdays or Fridays between 11:00am–7:00pm to continue working on their project. The instructor will be present in the studio during these times for questions or brief guidance.
