About this Event
Red Global MX, Australia (RGMX AU) and the Latin American Student Association at ANU (LASA ANU) invite you to Ties of Mexico and Latin America in Canberra, an evening of ideas, partnerships and community at the Australian National University.
This event marks the formal launch of the Canberra Liaison, a new local presence of RGMX AU dedicated to weaving stronger connections between the Mexican and broader Latin American diaspora and Canberra's academic, diplomatic and civic life. The Liaison will be led by Dr Jorge Gálvez (ANU), recipient of the 2024 Gordon Bell Prize.
Over three hours, you'll hear four short talks from researchers and practitioners working across satellites, volcanology, water and net-zero, and the connections between research, industry and policy. A moderated roundtable will explore how value drives collaboration across borders, and we'll formally announce a new partnership between RGMX and MyScience.
We're honoured to welcome H.E. Ambassador Ernesto Céspedes Oropeza, Ambassador of Mexico to Australia, who will offer welcome remarks.
