About this Event
Tidal Relics is a solo exhibition by Stacey Welchley exploring the shifting boundary between beauty, erosion, and memory through layered resin works inspired by the sea. Drawing from the visual language of tides, geological pressure, and submerged artifacts, the collection examines what is revealed, distorted, or preserved beneath the surface of reclaimed surfwear.
Built through translucent layers and reflective depth, each piece changes with movement and light, inviting viewers into an experience that feels both immersive and unstable. Oceanic textures become records of time, pressure, and transformation, balancing serenity with a subtle sense of unease.
Rather than depicting the ocean directly, Tidal Relics approaches water as archive, force, and metaphor, asking viewers to consider how environments, objects, and people are quietly reshaped over time.
