About the Speaker

Professor Refet S. Gürkaynak is a Professor of Economics at Bilkent University, specializing in monetary economics, financial economics, and international finance. He also serves as Program Director of the Monetary Economics and Fluctuations Programme at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).

He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University and previously worked as an economist at the Federal Reserve Board. His research focuses on monetary policy, financial markets, and macroeconomic dynamics, with numerous publications in leading academic journals.

Professor Gürkaynak is widely recognized for his contributions to monetary economics and has been a keynote speaker at major international conferences, as well as a recipient of multiple academic awards.
