Thursday nights at the the Art Institute! We'll meet in the Main Hall (see cover pic) We have met here before but you can sketch in other areas. A couple important things about sketching at the Art Institute.
Sometimes security does NOT care if you sketch with ink pens within the main hall. Usually this is the case. You can go to the Lobby of the Modern Wing as well. But keep in mind sometimes they will ask you either to put away your equipment or be asked to leave if you sketch w/watercolors, even in the Main Hall (although I have done it).
You can definitely NOT use watercolors in the galleries where art is located (although I've been known to be a sneaky sketcher, don't want to be a bad influence) - Security will most likely notice and ask you to leave.
It is highly suggested to reserve a ticket online for Thursday Feb 5th. If you don't you can still get a ticket there BUT BRING A VALID I.D. - it is free for Illinois residents.
We will have our Throwdown in the Main Hall at 7:30pm. It is always fun to sketch at the Art Institute!
