The Ben Troyer Trio is a Cincinnati based, original jazz group. Borrowing from an array of influences, drummer Alex Merk, bassist Jack Early, and guitarist Ben Troyer stretch the confines of genre, bringing a new sound to light. Comparable to the styles of Pat Metheny and Julian Lage, the band aims to create a delicate balance of open space and complexity through their own original compositions.
