An elegant, intimate Ella Fitzgerald tribute featuring three-time Grammy-nominated vocalist Roberta Gambarini and acclaimed pianist Tamir Hendelman in their only LA duo appearance.
This special evening is part of a West Coast tour leading into an 8-day Ella tribute tour in Israel, bringing added significance to a rare collaboration between two internationally celebrated jazz artists.
Roberta Gambarini rose to international prominence as a finalist in the 1998 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition and has since performed at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Newport and Monterey Jazz Festivals, Blue Note New York, Royal Albert Hall, and major venues worldwide. Her collaborations include jazz legends such as James Moody, Clark Terry, Roy Hargrove, Hank Jones, Herbie Hancock, Michael Brecker, and Dave Brubeck, among many others. Her recordings have earned multiple Grammy nominations and international acclaim, establishing her as one of the leading voices in contemporary jazz.
Tamir Hendelman is a widely respected jazz pianist and composer known for his lyrical touch, harmonic sophistication, and dynamic improvisation. A longtime member of the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, he has performed with Natalie Cole, Barbra Streisand, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Tierney Sutton, and Roberta Gambarini, as well as jazz masters including Benny Golson, Houston Person, Eddie Henderson, and Scott Hamilton.
Together, Gambarini and Hendelman bring deep musical rapport to this special tribute, reimagining the timeless repertoire of Ella Fitzgerald with elegance, swing, and emotional depth.
