Through his journey from a young lawyer fighting for civil rights to achieving historic victories like Brown v. Board of Education, this play highlights his enduring legacy of justice, equality, and hope for a better future.About the Actor: Selmore Haines, III is the founder and artistic shepherd of The Joyful Noise Christian Theater of Dallas, Texas. Mr. Haines was initially given the opportunity to portray Thurgood Marshall in 2017 at Jubilee Theatre in Fort Worth, Texas. His performance earned him the Dallas-Fort Worth Theater Critics Award for Best Leading Actor in a Play. In 2018, Mr. Haines revived the role at Bishop Arts Theater Center in Dallas, Texas. He considers portraying Thurgood Marshall the most challenging and rewarding experience of his acting career. Mr. Haines is honored to bring “Thurgood” to the Palace Theater and grateful to the staff and board for the opportunity.
