Instructor Bio: Join The Wellness Institute for a NEW CLASS! Doreen Ellinwood, the creator of the "DoreenoMethod" will be hosting her thumbs free deep tissue class at the WIofCC. Don't miss this opportunity! Doreen Ellinwood has been a Massage Therapist since 2005 and a trainer since way before then. She enjoys training and wants your experience to be informative as well as entertaining.

Providing our clients deep tissue and firm pressure body work doesn’t have to hurt, them OR us. This course will delve into how Massage Therapists can provide fantastic therapeutic massage sessions without pain. It will teach therapists the tools they need to provide deep tissue massage without relying solely on our thumbs.

In this course you will learn:

• Why the anatomy of our hands and arms helps clients but may hurt us.
• Simple, easy to follow principles for preventing injury, including body mechanics and ergonomics.
• How to provide "Thumb-Free" Deep Tissue techniques for the neck, back, arms, hands, legs, and feet.
• Self-Care

By the end of this course, you will have new “thumb-free” deep tissue techniques to address client issues in the neck, back, arms/hands, and legs/feet. You will also have tools in your toolbox to help prevent injury as well as self-care.

Please Bring: Linens, Massage Lubricant of your choice, Notetaking paper/pen/tablet/etc.
