Come sing all your favourite rap, trap, heartbreak ballads, and hood anthems. Whether you’re grabbing the mic or just vibing with your crew, this night is about nostalgia, release, community, and screaming the songs that raised us.
Why?
Because trap music has always been more than what people reduce it to. For so many of us, it is the soundtrack to survival. The soundtrack to long bus rides home, sandbox memories, grief, heartbreak, ambition, prayer, numbness, healing, and wanting more for ourselves and the people we love.
Sometimes music is the only place you can put it.
This night is about reclaiming our humanity through music and community.
It’s about screaming lyrics beside strangers who somehow feel familiar.
It’s about hearing the songs that carried us through impossible seasons.
It’s about joy, release, nostalgia, vulnerability, and letting yourself feel everything out loud.
Come sing your heart out.
Come dance.
Come yell every lyric word for word.
Come laugh with your friends.
Come romanticize your survival a little bit.
Come remember that softness and tenderness exist in the trenches too.
Because hood poets come in all forms.

A huge part of Thugs Need Love Too is making community spaces as low-barrier and accessible as possible.
We never want finances to be the reason someone cannot experience joy, art, music, or community.
At the same time, events like this still come with real operational and organizing costs: venue fees, photographers, videographers, artists, décor, equipment, supplies, labor, and all the invisible work that goes into creating meaningful spaces safely and intentionally.
