Our ethos is simple – bespoke driver training, tailored to you. Whatever your experience level, and whether you drive a road car, weekend toy or race car, our personalised training will help you improve your car control and confidence. Our aim is for you to enjoy your car to the fullest – and do so safely – through the knowledge, practice, and understanding gained from your time with us.Thruxton provides a great two-part environment: in the morning you’ll use the dedicated skid pan surface area, an ideal space to explore grip, balance and car control in complete safety. This is where you’ll first experience the real dynamics of understeer, oversteer and weight transfer, learn about traction circles, slip angles and start developing improved steering, throttle and braking input - all while working at low speed, on low-grip surface, with minimal wear on your car and tyres.
In the afternoon, the focus shifts to the paddock area, where a bespoke coned driving zone transforms the tarmac into your personal handling course. Here you’ll build on the foundations of the morning session with more speed comparable to the road and track: further exploring slip angles, the traction circle, managing higher-speed cornering, and experimenting with trailing throttle and trailing brake. You’ll also develop spin control and learn how to ‘listen’ to the car — reading the feedback it gives you and using that awareness to stay in control and use it to your advantage.
Because our training is always bespoke, it doesn’t matter who else is on the course with you – the session is tailored to your own goals. Whether it’s your first visit or your thirty-first, every driver has new ground to cover, because mastery comes through repetition and refinement. The more you practice, the more instinctive and precise your driving becomes.
