About this Event
Friday night, after dark.
Threshold Encounter is a guided waking-dream lab: an immersive, participatory experience using personal objects, lantern light, low sound, gentle movement, and the architecture of the room.
We gather first by lantern light. Then we enter the larger space together.
Each participant brings a few small objects or images from home. Through simple guided actions — listening, moving, arranging, noticing, and crossing — we create a shared threshold environment: a place where ordinary objects and spaces can begin to feel more charged, intimate, and alive than usual.
This is not a performance, class, or therapy session. There is nothing to perform, explain, or get right.
It is a quiet, embodied experience for people curious about dreams, ritual, immersive art, symbolic encounter, personal transition, and the hidden life of ordinary things.
This May 15 event is the first in-person pilot of Threshold Encounter at Expressive Arts.
Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in, use the bathroom if needed, and settle before we begin. Because the experience depends on a shared opening sequence, late entry may not be possible.
Participants are asked not to take photos or videos during the lab.
Threshold Encounter is an in-person lab in the practice of Depth Immersion Theatre — a way of working with attention, space, objects, and embodied imagination so that meaning arrives through lived experience rather than explanation.
