“It is not even the American Dream that they pursue, but rather the more modest aspiration to wake up from the nightmare into which they were born.” Three Trees Books’ Tiny Book Club pick this month is “Tell Me How It Ends: An Essay in Forty Questions” by Valeria Luiselli.
We meet next Wednesday, November 5th at 6:30pm in the bookstore. Lots of copies are available (at our bookstore and at the library!) There’s still plenty of time to read it before we meet (128 pgs).
About “Tell Me How It Ends”:
Luiselli, working as a volunteer interpreter for unaccompanied migrant children in the U.S., moves through the 40 standard intake questions used in immigration courts — and in doing so, reframes how we think about storytelling, language, displacement and justice.
