About this Event

Join us for an evening of community and purpose at the Three Sisters Fundraiser Dinner. This special event is dedicated to raising awareness and support for global women's health initiatives.

The evening’s goal is to raise funds for students participating in a transformative one-week service-learning experience in Guatemala. This program offers a unique opportunity for students and health practitioners to learn alongside traditional midwives and engage directly with Indigenous-led health initiatives. By supporting this cause, you help foster a new generation of healthcare leaders grounded in cultural humility and community-centered care.

Your attendance directly contributes to an immersive educational experience that honors traditional knowledge and promotes ethical engagement in global public health 🌽🌱

The Three Sisters Dinner draws its inspiration from the practice of planting corn, beans, and squash together—a tradition deeply rooted in the fields of the Guatemalan Highlands. These plants, known as the “Three Sisters,” thrive through mutual support: corn provides a structure for beans to climb, beans enrich the soil, and squash shields the ground. This approach is a living metaphor for what we hope to create—an ecosystem where diverse strengths come together to uplift the whole community. Represented by the symbol S³, the dinner embodies Sisters, Sustainability, and Synergy, affirming our commitment to collective empowerment, care for the Earth, and transformative cross-cultural connection.

Can't join in person, but would like to be part? Join us for a Virtual Cooking Class on April 24th.

Join us for a virtual cooking class with the Blevins family! On Friday, April 24th, join us on Zoom to learn how to prepare Chuchitos, a traditional Guatemalan snack. This is a corn-based tamal stuffed with a special sauce, chicken, or pork cooked wrapped in dry corn leaves. Once registered, we'll send the ingredients list.
