About this Event
Threads of Home: A Writing + Weaving Community Workshop
What does home feel like in your body?
Where do you experience belonging—in people, in place, in the natural world?
Threads of Home is an intimate community workshop weaving together reflective writing and hands-on fiber art as a way to explore themes of home, belonging, and interconnection. Guided by interdisciplinary writer and artist, Bowie Rowan, and fiber artist, Sally C. Garner.
The evening begins with gentle, accessible writing prompts—no writing experience required—designed to help you explore personal memories, sensations, and stories connected to place, community, and belonging. From there, we’ll move into a tactile, embodied experience using small, hand-held looms, where your written reflections become material—translated into color, texture, and pattern.
This is a process-focused, playful workshop rooted in curiosity, presence, connection, and healing. There is no pressure to produce a “finished” piece or to share unless you wish to. All participants will begin a woven piece on a mini loom to take home as a physical reminder of their narrative exploration.
