About this Event

The course is open for all scouting volunteers (e.g. Leaders, Assistant Leaders and Section Assistants etc. of all sections).

Equipment:

Technical equipment will be provided but please come dressed as if you'll be outside all day at Thornthwaite, including the crate stacking area that can be quite exposed.

Domestics:

Please bring a packed lunch and a drinks bottle, hot drinks will be provided.

Course Aims:

To teach you the belay and management techniques to operate any of the high ropes activities at Thornthwaite (Crate Stacking, Tree Climbing, Wobble Pole & Caving Ladder).

Course Outcome:

Have the skills to lead these activities, be ready to consolidate your skills through supervised practice prior to an assessment at a later date. After assessment you'll then have a site specific permit for High Ropes Activities at Thornthwaite.
