In honor of Dad, fathers ride free during this First Saturday celebration. Just book a general admission ticket for dad and we will upgrade at check-in.
Enjoy a full day of electric‑only operations, featuring rides on our mainline electric car and loopline streetcar—a relaxing way to spend the day.
✨ Looking for something extra special?
Treat Dad to a Mini Run‑One experience on SP 1006. For $40, he’ll spend 20 minutes behind the throttle of one of our historic locomotives. The roomy cab allows two additional riders, making it a shared memory the whole family will treasure.
This special First and Third Saturday event will also feature our other signature offerings, including:
Lawn Games and Maker Station
Relax in Pinacate Park – bring a picnic or pick up some snacks, ice cream, or cold drinks from our Museum Store, and participate in our lawn games, create something at our maker station, or build your own train layout on our new train table (located on the south side of Pinacate Park)

Visit Carhouse 1 (Los Angeles Railway Collection), Carhouse 4 (Interurban and Steam Collection), Grizzly Flats (1880’s Narrow Gauge and Ward Kimball Collection), Fred Harvey Exhibit.

Active Restoration
Stop by Carhouse 4 to see SCRM Steam Crew in action restoring our resident steam engine VC-2. This is a unique opportunity to see a steam engine undergoing a routine 1472 inspection in which the whole locomotive must be dismantled, evaluated, and repaired. The Steam Crew is currently half way through this 5 year project.
