The City of Tulsa’s Planning and Neighborhoods Department is inviting district leaders, business associations, community members and business and property owners to the third Annual Destination Districts Retreat on Thursday, March 5, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Centennial Center in Veterans Park, 1028 E 6th St, Tulsa, OK 74120.The event is free to attend, but an RSVP is required. This free, daylong event will focus on placemaking, collaboration and upcoming projects in Tulsa’s districts. Attendees will hear from experts from the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits, Tulsa Area United Way, and more on topics such as fundraising, volunteer and board recruitment, marketing and promoting your district, district website best practices, and so much more!
This year a special session is planned to help get destination districts and commercial corridors ready for two big events happening in Tulsa: the Route 66 Centennial, which will bring visitors year-round as well as for the Capital Cruise planned for May 30th, and the National Main Street Conference, which will bring over 2,000 placemakers to the city.
