You're invited to the New Hampshire drag-theatre premiere of Think of The Children! after a SOLD OUT debut run in Portland at Geno’s Rock Club!
A veritable force for drag goodness, veteran drag queen Bunny Wonderland celebrates her 20th anniversary as a performer with a brand new play: Think of The Children!

Think of The Children! is a hilarious and heartwarming romp into the underworld of all things Bunny Wonderland. Taking place in her Portland, Maine Apartment, Bunny shares with her guests (and the nosy nextdoor neighbor) all the things inspiring her to be her authentic self over the span of her enigmatic career.
In a world of artificial intelligence, Bunny proves time again to be a nostalgic and analogic breath of fresh air.

Think of The Children! combines the camp of Elvira Mistress of the Dark with the vintage panache and heart of Auntie Mame!. Combining practical special effects, multimedia and immersive experience, Think of The Children! is slated to be the fringe theatre event of the winter 2026 season.

Directed by David Jon Timm
There will be a 15-minute intermission.

About Knate Higgins/Bunny Wonderland (Writer, Producer) :
Knate Higgins has been performing since the age of 5. A Gorham Maine native, Knate’s first love of film (specifically on VHS) led him to become the host of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (The Movies on Exchange Street, Portland Maine) at the age of 15.

In 2005, Bunny Wonderland was conceptualized as a vessel to help raise money for Aids/HIV awareness. This soon led Bunny to become the first Drag Princess of Portland Pride. Bunny has hosted Oberlin Drag Ball (Oberlin College), 4 USM Royal Majesty Drag Balls, (Portland Maine), and countless fundraisers throughout New England. Knate/Bunny received artistic residency with the City of Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 2015 with A Tiny Bit Huge. Knate/Bunny served as a resident actor, chief arts programmer, and founder of The Red Light Series (Seacoast Rep Theatre).

Knate opened Deadwick’s Ethereal Emporium (Portsmouth, NH) and in 2019, became Program Manager at 3S Artspace (Portsmouth, NH). In addition, Knate also worked with Seven Stages Shakespeare Company (Portsmouth, NH), New Hampshire Theatre Company (Portsmouth, NH), Prescott Parks Festival (Portsmouth, NH) and Vermont Burlesque Festival (Burlington, VT). Knate/Bunny was also the Grand Marshall for the 2019 Portsmouth Halloween Parade. In 2020, Bunny was featured in Scream Queen: My Nightmare on Elm Street (Shudder, Tubi). Knate/Bunny has been a contributor and speaker to PechaKucha, TedX, and NPR.

After many years, Knate/Bunny returned to their home in Portland, Maine where they continue to host and perform for Curbside Queens, Lady Luck Burlesque, and Children's Theatre of Maine. Knate currently teaches elementary for Portland Public Schools. They are finishing their dual BS for general and special education; and soon their Masters for early intervention.
