About this Event
Interested in growing food and how this can be done in urban environments? Have great ideas you want to share about increasing access to healthy, home-grown foods in Clayton? Never heard of urban agriculture and just want to learn more?
Join us for this workshop in which we will begin to co-create a prototype urban food system. This will be a workshop to discuss ideas, build models, and draw your vision for the ideal future of food growing in Clayton.
This is part one of two co-creation sessions. To get the full experience, we hope you will join us for both workshops, however, attendance at both isn’t essential.
Lunch will be provided.
Each participant will receive £25 per workshop, up to a total of £50, as a ‘thank you’ for giving your time to the project.
About:
This workshop is part of the ‘Think it – Make it – Grow it’ project, which puts local people at the very centre of the design process to bring food production closer to home, which is ultimately designed by you! The session will be a maximum of six hours long including refreshment and lunch breaks.
The workshops are a great way to learn more about growing food in your town and community, and to meet people in your local area who share similar interests.
The events will be led by Dr Andy Jenkins from the University of Salford, who is an expert in urban agriculture, alongside other expertise from the University of Salford, Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Roots, and UpPlant.
